Our Curriculum

The Living Curriculum Philosophy

At Unity of SA, we use the Living Curriculum Education Philosophy in our Youth Education programs. The Living Curriculum is a process of spiritual support used to assist children, teens, families, and the church community in co-creating successful living. It honors the inherent wholeness and wisdom within each one of us, and utilizes storytelling and experiential creative expression to “draw out” the Truth we already know. The process helps us to explore spiritual principles and to become aware of how the principles operate in our lives.

Unity Principles Info-graph
1. God Is our only source and power.
2. I AM inherently good because God is in me.
3. What I think creates my reality.
4. I pray knowing God is my source.
5. I practice the first four principles every day.

Sacred Safety

For the safety and liability of our program, we perform criminal background checks on all volunteers who work with our youth. It is our policy to have 2 volunteers per classroom space (this includes travel and participation in regional events).

Our Safety Team monitors the Unity Heights Building during the 11:00 a.m. youth classes. They are trained to question anyone who enters the building while classes are in session. Registration forms must be on file for all youth ministry participants and will be updated at the start of each school year.

Please note we can only provide supervision of your child while they are checked into class. Otherwise, families must supervise, monitor, and be responsible for their child at all times while on campus. We ask that you please do so to ensure your child’s safety.

Get Involved

Our program is a family co-operative ministry. There are always things to be done and many ways to serve beyond volunteering in the classroom.  Please contact the YFM Director for volunteer opportunities.
