Have Questions About Recovering in Unity (RIU)? We Have Answers For You!
A new and empowering approach to recovery has emerged in San Antonio.
You may have heard of the efficacy of 12 Step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous. Countless people have found improvement in their situation by taking such a path. What if we were to tell you of a program that combines the 12 Steps and Universal Spiritual teachings congruent with science? Unity is such a path, and Recovering in Unity combines the 12 Steps and Unity Principals.
Recovering in Unity is a program of empowerment. In the program we uphold ourselves and each other in affirmative prayer, claiming our power. This is very similar to the popular psychological coping intervention of affirmation. Both work by reprogramming the subconscious mind. We find that because the affirmations are a part of our spirituality, we are empowered to live a compulsion free life.
Recovering in Unity is appropriate for anyone who describes their religion as metaphysical, new age, New Thought, or Unity, or anyone who is not in alignment with the idea of an anthropomorphic God. We meet on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. at Unity Church of San Antonio.
Recovering in Unity is a practical and spiritual pathway to recovering one’s True nature, a natural state of Unity, or Oneness. In doing so, any unhealthy habits are released. Many people find encouragement, strength, and hope during meetings, and create connections with other members for support in their life’s journey. We invite you to come learn more about us!
Join us for our Q&A session after church on Sunday, October 2nd, in the Unity Heights Building on 8103 Broadway Street at 12:30 p.m. We will gather in the CommUNITY Center located on the first floor.
