Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. – John 14:27
“Easter is not merely the celebration of the life of Jesus. He reminds us that we are capable of doing even greater things than he did. We love and celebrate the master teacher by practicing his principles, living his teachings, and following his example. When we do, our life shines and glorifies the power, the presence, and the love of God. All of us emanate from that loving presence. When that is our self-concept, we will be able to say as Jesus did, ‘When you see me, you see the presence that sent me,’ and you will experience Easter every day of your life.” James Trapp, Unity Magazine March/April 200
What is Palm Sunday?
Palm Sunday is the day we celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, one week before His resurrection (Matthew 21:1–11). Palm Sunday marked the start of what is often called “Passion Week,” the final seven days of Jesus’ earthly ministry. Palm Sunday was the “beginning of the end” of Jesus’ work on earth.
Adult volunteers will provide information about the story of Palm Sunday as told through the four gospels in the Bible and corresponding information about the metaphysical message as seen through Unity teachings.
Children and teens will discuss and begin to incorporate or expand upon existing knowledge of their own connection to Jesus as a teacher. They will also gain insight into the Unity Principles as illustrated in the stories associated with Jesus. A deeper understanding of the Christ Consciousness or Christ Within will be encouraged.
Principle #1: There is nothing outside of God
Principle #2: I am naturally good because God’s Divinity is in me and in everyone.
Principle #3: I create my world through my thoughts and choices.
Principle #4: Through prayer and meditation I connect with Christ within.
Principle #5: Every day I do my best, I give my best, and I make a difference in the world.
