2020 in Youth Ministry at Unity Church of San Antonio is all about Power – our inherent 12 Powers, that is! In January, we learned about the Power of Faith, understanding and trusting that which is yet unseen. February brought us the Power of Strength, our ability to stand steadfast in our truth while allowing for flexibility and change. During the month of March, our children, teens, and volunteers have unpacked the Power of Wisdom, and what perfect timing for this Power in our world!
As we face new and unprecedented challenges in our world community, it is part of our humanness to have moments of fear or doubt. These moments are the real-life training ground in which to practice our 12 Powers. As Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore described so aptly in naming the first Unity Church – Unity Church of Practical Christianity – it is through our daily practice and hands-on understanding that we experience our personal spiritual growth.
As March comes to a close, we activate our Power of Wisdom as we view the world around us in thoughtful contemplation, asking thought-provoking questions, and then sitting in the silence as answers present themselves. In the days ahead, enjoy the quiet moments, breathe in the fragrance of Spring, and celebrate your own innate wisdom.
Springtime is nature’s way of transforming herself into something new – the stage where growth is assured yet totally unknown. In the weeks ahead all of nature will have changed. While we cannot yet know exactly what it will look like, we know it will be transformed.
