Celebrating Dad, Jennifer Llamas, Youth and Family Ministry Director.
As students of Unity, we learn that we each have a spark of the Divine (God) inside of us. How does it feel to live your life knowing that you are a Light to others? This is such a special gift to share with the world!
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16
This Sunday, in Youth Ministry, we are going to have a Celebration! We will also discuss why it is important to appreciate other people in our lives and how it feels when others appreciate us! Throughout the month of June, we are talking about Prosperity each week leading up to our Youth Led Service. Giving and receiving appreciation are very special gifts that are part of living a Prosperous Life. Our hearts are open to understanding and appreciating those who love and care for us.
Adult volunteers will lead a fun day of celebration in Youth Ministry. All ages will combine for a Pop-Up Party! We will play games, share snacks, and create artwork for dads in our lives. As we are playing and creating together, our topic of conversation will be gratitude and its place in a Prosperous Life. Children and teens will be able to identify ways they have been cared for or nurtured. They will explore the reasons to be grateful for this attention, and they will understand how to integrate an appreciation for caregivers and caregiving into their daily lives. They will also be presented with the opportunity to create a gift for their father figure – a way of showing appreciation and “living the Truth we know”!
Principle #2: I am naturally good because God’s divinity is in me. My caregivers are naturally good because God’s divinity is in them!
Principle #3: I create my experience by what I choose to think, feel, and believe. And my caregivers do the same!
Principle #5: It is not enough to know the Truth, we must live the Truth we know with our words, actions, and thoughts. Today, I show my love and appreciation with words & deeds.
We are grateful for the care we receive from others in our lives. We feel blessed to be nurtured by others. We remain open to the love that surrounds us, and we live our lives in gratitude for the care we receive.
REMINDER: Please stop by before church for our Donuts for Dads Celebration on Father’s Day.
