“Walking in Faith” with Jennifer Llamas, Youth and Family Ministry Director
“Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” – Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
In our youth ministry classrooms, we continue with our January study on the Power of Faith. In celebration of the memory and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., we turn to his life and words as our guide this week.
Dr. King had many opportunities during his lifetime to contemplate and practice a faith-filled life. King junior was one of the principal leaders of the civil rights movement of the United States. King challenged racial discrimination and segregation, and he was a prominent defender of non-violence protest.
Through story, discussion, and activities, the children and teens will examine what it means to live a life of active faith and how we can embrace the mystery of the unknown with courage.
