Jennifer Llamas, Youth and Family Ministry Director
This week, we are thinking about balance, as we continue our September study of the Power of Order.
The quality of adjustment is all about our ability to be flexible, to create balance, and to adapt. In fact, the members of every species that are the best at adapting to their environments have the highest rate of long-term survival! In our spiritual pursuits, adjustment allows us to modify our words and actions and helps us discern when we need to balance action with stillness, motion with rest. Meditation is an important tool for a life of balance.
The adjusting power of order has long been one of my favorite aspects of both physical and spiritual order. Knowing that life is made to bend and flex brings such freedom to our own personal endeavors. Our inborn sense of order allows us to plan and forecast while the faculty of adjustment reminds us that there are multiple paths to reaching our ultimate goals.
Spiritual and emotional balance come through modifying our words, thoughts, and actions to keep our heart in balance. We know we are in balance when we feel at ease. May your week ahead be filled with just enough challenge to remind you that flexibility is your birthright and you are made to bend and sway.
Our Youth ministry is currently homeschooling. Please contact us if you would like to participate!
