Jennifer Llamas, Youth and Family Ministry Director
We are the Power of God in action! Our words, thoughts, and deeds are the ways in which we manifest Divine Power in our lives and in the world around us. Throughout the month of May, our Youth Ministry lessons examine the Power of Power. Over the past two weeks, we have explored the ideas of humankind being the expressive element of Divine Power, and we have considered our abilities to focus and direct our energy and actions, taking solace in the knowledge that we can be the creator of calm amidst life’s storms.
This week, as we turn to our innate skill of self-mastery, we realize that we hold the key to directing our impact on the world around us. Through story time, meditation, and family activities, our lesson for this week encourages each of us to choose and share our words wisely. By using the ideas of focus and mindfulness that we explored last week, we are able to direct and transform our words to be powerful messengers sent out to our community.
Our Power of Power informs us that in our hearts, we know what is right. We know our Truth. By believing in our Truth and sharing it with others, we bring Psalm 19:14 alive, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord.”
