World Day of Prayer is a 24-hour prayer vigil and meditation, and September 12, 2019, marks the 26th anniversary of the event. Thousands of individuals and communities around the world will come together to affirm and celebrate the true spiritual nature of potential. We will have a World Day of Prayer service on our campus on Thursday, September 12, 2019, beginning at 7:00 PM.
This week in Youth Ministry, our children, teens, and adult volunteers will focus on the Infinite Presence Unlimited Potential that lives in, around, and through us. Through stories, discussion, and creative projects, our children and teens will turn their energy toward the collective power of prayer and will grapple with questions that can guide them to their own personal expression of their place in the world.
What does it mean to experience “Infinite Presence and Unlimited Potential”?
YOU & UniTeen Response to this year’s WDOP Reflection Questions:
Where is God?
God is in anyone and everywhere, not just some being to beg to outside of you but a part of you and of everyone. We are the same as God and yet surrounded by God. “There is nothing outside of God” (Rev. Linda Martella-Whitsett)
What is My Potential?
Keeping a positive mindset prepares you for an ideal outcome. Your energy has the potential to affect others and the world around you. If God is divine and everyone has God within them, then everyone has potential to be divine (connection to all).
How Does Prayer Lead to Fulfillment?
Practicing prayer helps prepare you to face real world problems. Once you have the idea in your mind of what a prayer practice feels like, it’s easier to apply methods of prayer to everyday situations. Prayer allows you to detox and reset.
In the words of Myrtle Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, “As the sunshine brings out the colors in beauty, so the light of love brings out Christ Virtues in people. So, love, love, love.” Let your unlimited potential shine on the world around you this week!
