UCSA Children and Teens Rock the Community!
“Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go.” Psalm 71:3
About a year ago, a rock was found on the steps of our sanctuary with info about a local project: San Antonio Rocks. Our Communications Coordinator, Birdie Shawker, found the rock and brought it to the YM classroom to ask if we would like to participate. After researching the project and determining that it would be an ideal way for the children and teens to make a creative impact on the world around us, we have been awaiting the right time to spring into action. We are so happy to announce – the time has arrived!
During the month of July, our children, teens and adult volunteers will work on painting rocks with positive messages written on them. As part of each week’s lesson, we will review spiritual topics which we have covered over the past year, such as prosperity, gratitude, Unity’s 5 Principles, and the 12 Powers – all of these areas will help mold the artwork and words that animate our rock creations!
If you would like to learn more about the San Antonio Rocks projects and see some very creative rock designs, here is the link to the project’s Facebook page. You may even find that you’d like to join in this creative, heartwarming activity yourself!
