Who We Are

Unity is a positive, practical, progressive approach to Christianity based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the power of prayer. Unity honors the universal truths in all religions and respects each person's right to choose their own spiritual path.

Our basic beliefs are found in Five Basic Principles. These spiritual laws govern the entire universe. And are foundational in all the religions of the world.

1. God is all good and active in everything, everywhere.

2. We are made in the image and likeness of God. Our core identity is divine.

3. Our thoughts, feelings, ideas, and the attitudes and beliefs we hold in mind are major influences on how we experience life.

4. We experience God, and God's good, through prayer and meditation.

5. We practice these truths in our daily living to be a bright light in the world.

Knowing that we live in a principle-based world, we can be grateful for all that surrounds us and supports us. We can live comfortably knowing that everything is connected. God is to Humanity as the Ocean is to Waves: Each of us is distinct as a wave which is also made up of the same energy and attributes of the ocean itself. Waves are not the entire ocean but also not separate from the ocean, just as we are not the entirety of all that is God, but we are made of the same stuff and part of the same divine flow.
