Rev. Jimmie Scott
This week on my travels, I’m delving into the concept of measuring progress.
In our educational institutes we are measured and graded by the level of proficiency we exhibit in courses of study. In spirituality there is no way to quantify proficiency other than to feel it in our own soul.
Perhaps this is why faith is such an important element in our growth.
If we believe the journey is going well, there is no stress or strain. Obstacles melt into resolutions and progress is measurable.
Perhaps this is why the scriptures place a large amount of emphasis on being single-minded and staying focused on the goal rather than falling into the trap of doubt.
“A double minded man is unstable in all ways.” James 1:8
Keep the faith, my friend.
