“In the Christian religion God has revealed Himself, that is, He has given us to understand what He is; so that He is no longer a concealed or secret existence. And this possibility of knowing Him, thus afforded us, renders such knowledge a duty.” – Hegel’s Phenomenology of Spirit: Not Missing the Trees for the Forest
This week on the road ahead, I am keenly aware of each encounter.
So, I ask myself what message is the encounter projecting to my consciousness? Why does it deserve my attention? How do I ascertain its meaning?
These questions and many more like them add substance to my life journey. They remind me that there is always an underlying truth in each experience, and frequently those truths “hide in plain sight,” as the saying goes.
But the scriptures remind me that nothing is ever hidden from those who have eyes to see. Now I know! I know because I have chosen to know. By choosing to know what, why, and how, have been rendered powerless. Decisiveness is their master.
Do your duty, friend.
