Rev. Jimmie Scott
A few days ago as I sat contemplating my journey in life and how little I know about it.
I was stunned by this statement from Kurt Vonnegut while lecturing on the topic of storytelling. He said, “The truth is, we know so little about life, we don’t really know what the good news is and what the bad news is.”
A few minutes later, as I began some research on a scriptural lesson I was putting together, I received a deeper understanding of why religions use parables, images, and paradoxes in their attempt to explain a reality that is as much subjective as it is real.
Carl Jung said, “Man cannot stand a meaningless life.”
When I think of that statement in regards to the state of the world as I see it, I gain a foundation for personal peace.
On to the next experience!
