Rev. Jimmie Scott
This week in traversing the road ahead, I am reminded of the importance of conscious choice.
The ongoing pandemic continues to engage much of our attention, but it is not the only thing clamoring for space in our lives. Many people have children that need educational attention. Others have elderly relatives whose health and safety are high on their concern list, and all of this is in addition to the usual lists of unfinished tasks and chores of daily living.
If you spend too much time thinking about it, you will drive yourself nuts.
However, when we consciously choose how we think about it our ability to adapt and adjust is enhanced considerably. Recent scientific studies have revealed that learning how to use high stress circumstances to your advantage is extremely helpful in fortifying your consciousness. It changes the mindset from despair to hope. Inspires the individual to grow in ways he or she never thought was possible during their time of stress.
This isn’t rocket science. It’s just good old common sense.
Peace and Blessings, Friend,
