We lovingly release Alicia Whitsett, our Youth and Family Ministry Director, to her next best good as she moves with her family to Kansas City. In her short time as our Director, she has been responsible for many enhancements to our youth ministry. She was instrumental in creating the sacred dedicated space in Unity Heights for our youth. The new electronic sign-in procedures are evidence of her concern for the safety of our children, and her spiritual energy is evident in the joyful faces of our children as they join us after service. We are grateful for her loving presence in their lives. She continues her service in assuring that our interim YFM Director has the resources to continue the program uninterrupted.
Our children will be lovingly directed by Jennifer Gates, M.A., as our Interim YFM Director while we search for a permanent director. Her service begins on January 29.
Jennifer has a strong, proven track record for excellence in leadership at Unity of SA. She has been a dedicated member of our CommUNITY for over 13 years. Most recently, Jennifer served as the Community Life Coordinator, a Celebration Host, Lead of the Social Host Team, Lead of the Welcome Team, as a Youth Leader, and in many other roles.
Jennifer is well-versed in what it means to uphold youth in their life journey. She has two teenage daughters who keep her busy with their many extracurricular events. She substitute teaches for NEISD. Jennifer holds a BA in Psychology from Roanoke College and an MA in Sociology/Gerontology from the University of the Incarnate Word. In her spare time, she volunteers at an animal shelter.
We bless and appreciate both Alicia and Jennifer for their dedication to our Unity of SA bright lights! If you have questions for the Board of Trustees or Jennifer Gates, click here to contact us.
