Jennifer Llamas, Youth and Family Ministry Director
Spiritual Authority is our ability not only to know our Truth, but also to share that Truth with others as we shine our light in the world. Last week in our virtual youth ministry lesson, we continued discussing our Power of Power as we examined self-mastery, which is a lot like self-control – in the spiritual realm instead of just the physical. Learning to master our words, thoughts and actions; knowing how to stop in moments of conflict or discomfort and shift our focus to the Truth. This week, we go a step further by displaying our words and thoughts for the world around us. As we access our innate Spiritual Authority, we are able to put our humanness, our ego to work being of service to our spiritual goals and purposefulness.
Our story/video for this week in youth ministry as well as our suggested activities are all about creating works of art that display a positive message for the world around us. If you’d like to have a sneak peek of this week’s YM “story time”, check out this video below.
By using our creative abilities, each of us can share a positive message for those who pass by our little patch of the world. We invite everyone reading this to join us and display your own Spiritual Authority. Consider making posters to display in the windows of your home, designing some chalk art on your sidewalk, driveway or wooden fence, writing words of affirmation on your car windows, or even reaching out to a nearby nursing home or assisted living to brighten up their world with your art creations!
Our Power of Power reminds us that we are part of all that is. We are the hands and feet of God. We are the expressing element of the Divine. Our power, energy, and vitality shines Light on the world in which we live. Let your lights shine!
