Sundays 9:15 a.m. with Dottie Henderson, Licensed Unity Teacher
Each Sunday morning from 9:15-10:15 a.m. an open-ended spiritual discussion is facilitated by Dottie Henderson, LUT (Licensed Unity Teacher), in the Unity Heights upstairs classroom. In these discussions, heart-centered friends reflect on spiritual ideas and share their thoughts and feelings in community, as desired. We refer to spiritually oriented writings to inspire and focus the discussion, but book purchase is unnecessary. Each discussion stands alone so you may attend anytime whenever you are available.
We have reviewed some of the Unity classics as well as more contemporary books by authors such as Mary O’Malley, Michael Singer, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Byron Katie. We compare how the authors address various ideas and how those ideas relate to our beliefs and practices in Unity.
We are bringing to a close our review of Good Questions by Unity Rev Thomas Shepherd on Sunday February 24, and beginning anew on Sunday March 3. Our new book is A Course of Love by Mari Perron in which she shares her understanding of and communion with the Divine.
Jesus spoke on the supreme importance of love: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-39)
All spiritual seekers and discoverers are welcome to join us as we embark on a closer study of Love. The location of our group discussion is in the church administration building (Unity Heights) located on 8103 Broadway Street. We begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at 10:15 a.m. Contact us if you have questions about the group.
