COVID – 19
With the increased publicity regarding the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended that everyone give intentional thought to being prepared. For local information and updates, here is a link to the City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District.
Below is information provided by Unity Worldwide Ministries to our leadership with some of their recommendations:
The first and most important step is always prayer. We know that our consciousness makes a difference and one of the greatest gifts Unity offers is to stay positive and pray.
We invite you to join in the following prayer, or one of your own choosing.
We know that God is a Love that has no end and a Power that knows no bounds. God’s healing power of Divine Life is restoring, healing, and revitalizing our world in this very moment. We let go of any fears or anxieties, and we affirm that all are safe, healthy, and protected. We bless all those who support us in maintaining vibrant radiant health. We express Divine Life in all we think, say, and do. We bless our global family with radiant health, peace of mind, and abundant love.
Keep things in perspective. Don’t panic. Use all your spiritual tools such as prayer and meditation to help boost your immune system.
Begin Basic Prevention Steps Now
The steps to prevention include the same steps you would take in the face of any active flu season:
- Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- Protect coughs by coughing and sneezing into your elbow and/or a tissue.
- Frequently clean surfaces that are often touched, especially door knobs, door frames, telephones, keyboards, and bathroom areas.
- Use hand sanitizer.
- Please stay home if you are feeling ill. We are working on ways to get the Sunday message to you digitally; feel free to listen to a prior service on the church’s YouTube page for now. If you listen in, please consider a contribution. To donate, click here. Or mail a check to 8103 Broadway Ste 210, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
We at Unity Church of San Antonio would like you to feel free to make your own decisions as far as modifying the manner in which you greet people.
Please become informed about the virus by using the links at the beginning of this article. Then, if it feels helpful to you, you may refrain from holding hands during the Peace Song, or you may hold hands – if the person next to you is comfortable with that. For the Greeting Song, if it seems helpful to you, consider a substitute instead such as a “Namaste” greeting with hands in a prayer position, or an elbow bump. Be creative!
The Unity Church of San Antonio Board, Minister, and staff will monitor the COVID-19 situation and communicate any adjustments we might make in the future for Sacred Safety Reasons.
