A Fun and Successful Day
The Chili Cook Off and Bake Sale held on Sunday, February 16 provided our CommUNITY the opportunity to live out loud our core values of Community and Welcoming! Congratulations to Jennifer Gates Llamas and the Community Connections Team on a successful Chili Cook Off. There were over 85 people in attendance. Over $500.00 was raised that will go to our church’s technology capacity and improving our online presence.
Jim Jagger’s “Sea and Sty” chili, a special recipe featuring a delightful blend of shrimp and bacon won first place. Second place was Louis Nelson with his “The Best Vegan Chili” recipe, and third place went to Diane Pope with her “Pope’s Blessed Chili.”
The handcrafted quilt made by Kiana from contributions of fabric donated by congregants to the Youth Ministry was unveiled. It remains on display in the Community Center. The quilt will be auctioned on March 8 at the Annual Meeting. There will be 3 more quilts made. At least one of those will also be auctioned later.
We are profoundly grateful to everyone who gave of their time, talent, and treasure to create a successful and fun day for our CommUNITY.
