Unity Church of San Antonio (UCSA) is delighted to welcome their new senior minister, Rev. Jimmie Scott, who will begin serving the church the week of November 1st. He will give his first Sunday message November 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
Prior to serving at UCSA, Rev. Jimmie served as the Pastoral Care Minister at Unity of Phoenix for nine years, where he was well loved, appreciated, and known for his compassionate demeanor, as well as his wisdom.
He also served at First Church Unity in Nashville, TN. It is widely known that as Associate and later Lead Minister of the once tiny community. His leadership facilitated the growth of this church that now has over 500 congregants.
Rev. Jimmie has a wealth of various experiences in ministry. He has served as Chairman of the Executive Board for the Association of Unity Churches International, now known as Unity Worldwide Ministries. Rev. Jimmie has also served as the chaplain at the Unity Institute, now known as Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute.
Rev. Jimmie served at Renaissance West, Inc. in Kansas City, MO as a member of their Board of Directors.
As Associate Minister at Unity Renaissance Church in Chesapeake, VA, he had multiple responsibilities: supervising the finance department, and leading both the Chaplain Program and the Youth Education Department.
Rev. Jimmie has served the communities he resided in well. He was vice chairman of COPE, a job training and placement organization for people with mental and physical challenges. He was a past chairman of the advisory board of Community Enhancement, an alcohol and drug abuse council for teens. He also served as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau, as an advisor for Junior Achievement, and as a counselor for abused and neglected children.
