Our "welcomers" provide some of the most important service opportunities at UCSA. They are the heart of the church because if people don't feel welcome, they won't return. For a community that claims to be "the light of the world," these volunteers are holding high the torch. Plus, it's a great way to meet people. Currently our ushers fulfill all the functions of the welcome team. Contact usher team leader, Bruce Culbertson. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If you are called to provide more specific support, there is the opportunity for specifically keeping the sanctuary in tiptop presentation, to pay special attention to those visiting for the first time and speak with them after the service.
Usher Duties
Arrive early and help prepare a comfortable environment for worship, check the campus for Saturday night trash, check the rest rooms, welcome people inside the door, hand a bulletin, passout welcome brochures, dim lights as needed, collect the offering, pick up in the pews after the service - in general whatever might be needed to make the Sunday celebration an inspiring experience.
