Two or more hosts or assistants work together* to:
- Set up serving tables
- Prepare coffee and drinks and set out cups
- Arrange seating/tables for small-group conversation
- Set out the food that is brought or on hand. ( Valerie purchases some of the food, purchased with donations and UCSA congregants bring the food, rotating alphebetically by last name - FISH team hosts are not asks to bring the food also)
- Set out napkins, plates and utensils if needed. (Finger foods are encouraged to avoid need for plates, etc)
- Greet the Community crowd as they enter following the 11 AM service
- Keep tables supplied
- Clean up and coordinate lock-up
In general, arrive 10:15 - 10:30 and prepare. Clean up is 12:45 or 1:00. Please plan so that both of you are hosting, welcoming people and just having a good time yourself!
Tablecloths and floral arrangements are available in the Community Center. If you would like to be creative and prepare a themed table, it is much appreciated! An example would be a holiday theme or you may want to bring something from your home (collectibles, candles, flowers, figurines, hobbies, etc.) OR an inspirational theme.
Remember: refreshments are provided by the congregation, on a rotating basis, by last name; the social team hosts are not responsibile for refreshments. If you cannot bring a refreshment on the day your last name is listed, a donation basket is available for a reserve fund for supplies and extra refreshments.
