UCSA’s light radiates even more in the San Antonio community during winter holidays because of events put on by the volunteers in CommUNITY Service. Events are held throughout the year to raise money for these special projects.
The traditional service projects include:
A Thanksgiving project: Members and congregants volunteer to take Thanksgiving Dinner and serve it to the children and their families on the children’s floor at University Hospital.
A Christmas project: a Holiday Sharing Party with the senior residents of an apartment complex near our church. UCSA takes food gift cards, cookies and beverages to the apartments. Our music ministry provides music, children serve homemade cookies and beverages, and we present each of them with grocery store gift cards.
Mary Ybarra leads this team with the assistance of Gary Glassman. Judy Hargis leads the Holiday Sharing Party.
