Prayer Ministry

E-mail Print
"I believe in the power of Holy Spirit.  No concern is too large or insignificant for joining with another to affirm God's love and reject baseless worry.  I feel a deep sense of communion when we pray together."
- UCSA Prayer Chaplain David Cordova.

The power of prayer is fundamental to the Unity movement and to Unity Church of San Antonio. Prayer is basic to our belief in the importance of holding in our minds what we see happening, while being open to spirit's guidance.

UCSA Prayer Chaplain Ministry
At Unity Church of San Antonio, our prayer chaplains offer prayer support to our members, congregation and visitors. During Sunday services, a trained, dedicated prayer chaplain holds the congregation in prayer. The prayer chaplain is then available before or after the service to pray with anyone who asks.  Prayer cards* are available for confidential request.
After joining UCSA, each member receives a call from his or her assigned prayer chaplain monthly to offer a prayer and ask about prayer requests.

Wednesday Prayer Circles
Everyone is invited to attend Wednesday Prayer Circles in the Unity Heights office conference room.  Prayer for those seeking employment or career change is from 11:30 to noon.
Then from noon to 1 p.m., Rev. Linda, a UCSA Prayer Chaplain, and/or a fellow UCSA member leads prayer for any area requested by those in attendance. Emphasis is also given to Silent Unity, the Unity Association's 24/7 prayer vigil that has continued, uninterrupted, since the 1930's.
All are invited to bring their lunches to fellowship following prayer time.

Prayer Cards
Prayer cards are available in our sanctuary and the Unity Heights office for written prayer requests. In the sanctuary, these cards are available on the prayer table in the back corner. In the office, they are available on the prayer table in the reception area. On the first Sunday of every month, each bulletin holds a prayer card, which can be completed and placed in the prosperity basket, the prayer box, or the bird baskets at the exits. Completed cards are held in prayer at UCSA for a month and then mailed to Silent Unity to be held in prayer for another 30 days.

Silent Unity
The Unity approach to prayer is affirmative, based on positive prayers and affirmations that have universal, interfaith appeal. Silent Unity is available 24/7 ready to offer you free confidential prayer support whenever you want it. unity.org/prayer
